Sie stellen Spezialitäten vor, die sonst nur in ihren Heimatregionen zu finden sind. Gewürze aus Mali, Gemüsezwiebeln aus Sizilien oder Ziegenkäse gereift in Höhlen in Bulgarien - hergestellt von Kleinbauern oder Kooperativen. "Slow Food" unterstützt sie bei der Vermarktung in ihrem Land und motiviert die Bauern, ihre regionalen Produkte weiter anzubauen. Auch Jörg Geiger, Gastronom und Kellermeister im süddeutschen Göppingen ist ein Anhänger von Slow Food. Er hat vor einigen Jahren den Streuobst-Wiesen in seiner Region wieder kulinarische Bedeutung gegeben. Einer Studie des Zukunftsinstituts Deutschland zufolge ist "Slow Food" einer der Trends, die das Leben von morgen auf dem Gebiet der Ernährung beeinflussen. ( less )
